A European certificate system created to reduce energy consumption through financial incentives for energy efficiency projects, such as the installation of heat pumps.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are CAEs?<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They are electronic documents that certify that an energy efficiency improvement <\/strong>measure has resulted in energy savings. For example, when a gas or oil boiler is replaced with a heat pump<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CAE<\/strong> allows you to monetize the savings achieved, so part of the investment cost can be recovered without any tax implications. The more kWh of energy saved with the installation, the more CAEs<\/strong> you receive. 1 CAE = 1 kWh<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How much can CAEs save?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The amount of financial compensation depends on the building characteristics, the size of the property, the boiler being replaced, and the technical specifications of the heat pump<\/strong> system being installed.
The more efficient the heat pump, the more CAEs<\/strong> are obtained. The amount is independent of the investment cost and depends solely on the energy saved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CAEs: Compatible with Subsidies and Significant Tax Deductions<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

They are compatible with regional subsidies for installing heat pumps. Subsidies incentivize a percentage of the investment, while CAEs<\/strong> reward the savings generated by it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CAEs are also compatible with tax deductions<\/a>, and claiming them does not reduce the deduction base. For energy renovation investments carried out before December 31, 2026, tax deductions of up to \u20ac9,000 per taxpayer are available. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
